  • 5 gr pure matcha powder
  • 30 ml hot water (~80°C)
  • 240 ml oat milk or almond milk
  • 2 gr dried spearmint leaves (or 1 spearmint tea bag)
  • 7 ml maple syrup or honey
  • 1 fresh mint sprig or edible flower (to garnish)

Brew the spearmint

Brew the spearmint

Steep 2 grams dried spearmint leaves (or 1 spearmint tea bag) in 30 ml hot water (~80°C) for 3 minutes, then remove the leaves or bag. Let cool slightly — this becomes your spearmint base.

Whisk in the matcha

Whisk in the matcha

Sift 5 gr pure matcha powder into the warm spearmint water and whisk briskly in a W motion until a smooth, frothy green paste forms with no lumps.

Sweeten & prep the milk

Sweeten & prep the milk

Stir in 7 ml maple syrup or honey. Warm 240 ml oat milk or almond milk to 65–70°C and froth until creamy, or pour over ice for a cold latte.

Combine & serve

Combine & serve

Pour the matcha-spearmint paste into your milk and stir gently. Top with 1 fresh mint sprig or edible flower (to garnish) and serve immediately.
